Bonding is a convenient process where our dentists cover over a tooth’s surface with a tooth-colored composite, usually completed in one visit. If you have stained or decayed teeth, bonding can lighten these stains. Bonding can also help correct minor gaps or crooked teeth, or change the shape of a tooth.

Bonding is a resin and can be used in either back or front teeth. The tooth being repaired will have some etching made on the surface, after which the bonding resin can be applied. Then your tooth will be colored and shaped as needed to look natural. After being cured with a light, the surface is polished. Then your bonding is complete and your smile.

Tooth bonding is not recommended for smokers, as tobacco causes staining. It may chip more easily than a veneer or a crown and may require eventual replacement.
