Dental Sealant

A sealant is a thin, clear or white resin substance that is applied to the biting surfaces of teeth to prevent formation of cavities as bits of food and plaque collect in the pits and grooves of molars. These grooves are sometimes hard to thoroughly clean with brushing and rinsing, and sealants help reduce the onset of decay.

Sealants do not negate the practice of routine flossing and brushing, but they will help lessen your chances of developing decay and then needing expensive care that could have been avoided.
